This set of markets tracks how many points each team scores in an upcoming college football game. Each market corresponds to a specific point threshold for a team, determining whether they exceed that threshold during the match.
All markets resolve based on the official final point totals for Hawai'i and Wyoming in their college football game scheduled for September 26, 2026. For each market, if the specified team scores more than the stated threshold points, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of the original start time, the markets remain open and resolve according to the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price, ensuring equitable treatment for all participants regardless of the specific point thresholds.
Often, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own analysis. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook line is inaccurate, they can drive the price on Kalshi in a different direction. This can lead to discrepancies, potentially offering opportunities for informed traders. It's common to see prediction markets more accurately forecast probabilities, especially when considering information not fully priced into sportsbook lines.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing different team total outcomes, and the price of each contract fluctuates based on supply and demand. As more people buy contracts for a particular outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism means the market reflects the collective belief of all participants regarding the likelihood of each outcome. The current price of a contract represents the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market.
This market resolves around Sep 26, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the final combined score of both the Hawai'i and Wyoming teams will be used to determine the winning contracts. The resolution will be based on official game statistics, and the market will settle to 100, representing the actual team totals achieved during the game. Traders holding contracts corresponding to the correct team total will receive a payout.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before Sep 26, 2026. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Hawai'i or Wyoming would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favoring one team's style of play, could also impact trading activity. Unexpected announcements about coaching strategies or team morale might also shift market sentiment. Finally, large volume trades from informed participants could create momentum and drive price fluctuations in either direction.
