The second market evaluates the point differential in favor of Hawai'i during the first half of the game, with various thresholds for victory margins. Only the first half's points are used to determine the outcome.
Markets resolve to Yes if Hawai'i wins the first half by more than the specified point margin. Conversely, certain markets resolve to Yes if Wyoming wins the first half by more than the listed margins. Only points from the first half count. If the game is postponed but begins within 48 hours, the market stays open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, it resolves to a fair price. Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often incorporating information and analysis from a diverse range of sources. This can lead to differences compared to sportsbook odds, which are typically set by professional oddsmakers. Sportsbooks may initially emphasize public perception or attempt to balance their risk, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the likely outcome. It’s common to see this market move independently of sportsbook lines as new information emerges and more traders participate.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different point spreads for the first half. The price of each contract reflects the probability that the actual spread will fall on that side. As more traders buy contracts predicting a particular spread, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price discovery process is dynamic, constantly adjusting based on supply and demand, and influenced by any new information impacting the perceived likelihood of different outcomes.
This market resolves around Sep 26, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the actual point spread at the end of the first half of the Hawai'i vs Wyoming football game will be used to determine which contracts pay out. The resolution will be based on official game statistics and will be reported by trusted sports news sources. Traders holding contracts on the correct side of the spread will receive a payout, while those on the incorrect side will forfeit their investment.
Several factors could influence the price of this market leading up to game time. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Hawai'i or Wyoming teams would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions unfavorable to one team’s playing style, could also shift the market. Furthermore, late-breaking news about team strategy or coaching decisions, as well as public sentiment shifts reflected in polls or expert analysis, could all contribute to price movement in this market.
