This event group covers two distinct NPB baseball match outcomes involving the Hanshin Tigers. One market references a specific game against the Yomiuri Giants scheduled for August 12, 2026, while the other references a game against the Tokyo Yakult Swallows scheduled for August 18, 2026.
In the upcoming NPB game, scheduled for August 18 at 5:00AM ET: If the Hanshin Tigers win, the market will resolve to "Hanshin Tigers". If the Tokyo Yakult Swallows win, the market will resolve to "Tokyo Yakult Swallows". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, or ends in a tie, this market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source will be official information from the NPB. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
The market resolves based on the result of the Hanshin Tigers vs Yomiuri Giants Japan NPB game originally scheduled for Aug 12, 2026 at 5:00 AM EDT. If Hanshin Tigers wins, their market resolves to Yes; if Yomiuri Giants wins, their market resolves to Yes. If the game is postponed or delayed, markets remain open until the rescheduled game concludes within two days. If the game is cancelled or rescheduled beyond two days, markets resolve to a fair price. A tie results in a 50/50 resolution for both markets.
On Polymarket and Kalshi, prices can vary because of differences in user bases, liquidity, and trading activity. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. For example, one platform might have more traders focused on Japanese baseball, skewing its odds. Additionally, each venue has its own fee structure and minimum trade sizes, which can influence how traders place bets and, consequently, the visible probabilities. These dynamics often lead to distinct price discovery across the two platforms.
Injuries to key players, changes in pitching rotations, or sudden shifts in team performance can all influence this market. Weather conditions, playoff implications for either team, and even recent head-to-head performance may cause traders to adjust their bets. As new information emerges closer to the game, expect volatility in pricing, especially on platforms with lower volume, reflecting the evolving expectations of participants.
