Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from those offered by traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market's odds are driven purely by traders expressing their beliefs about the outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or risk assessments. Comparing these odds can be a valuable exercise for informed bettors, potentially identifying opportunities where the market believes a sportsbook has mispriced the probability of a particular result.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of the event occurring.
