This event tracks whether specific cricket teams will exceed designated run totals in an upcoming match. Bettors assess team performance potential against set benchmarks to determine outcomes.
All markets resolve based on the actual runs scored by each team during the specified Caribbean Premier League cricket match, provided an official result is declared. If the match is cancelled before play begins, all markets resolve to fair market price. If play starts but no official result is declared (including via DLS), markets resolve to fair market price except for those based on already achieved statistics. For shortened matches with an official result declared, match winner markets resolve according to the official result, while statistical markets resolve strictly on recorded performance without projections. Any match delayed beyond 48 hours from its scheduled start time results in all markets resolving to fair market price. The Exchange determines fair market prices in applicable scenarios, and Kalshi disclaims any official affiliation with the governing league.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook offerings. Sportsbooks set lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. As more information becomes available – such as team lineups or weather forecasts – the prediction market may adjust more quickly than traditional sportsbooks. This can lead to discrepancies, potentially offering opportunities for informed traders to find value where the market diverges from conventional wisdom.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell contracts representing different possible outcomes. The price of a contract indicates the market's probability of that outcome occurring. As traders exchange positions, the prices fluctuate, reflecting their collective assessment of the likely total runs scored. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market depth and order book are visible on the platform, providing transparency into supply and demand for each contract.
This market resolves around Sep 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The total runs scored by each team during the match will be used to determine the winning contract. This includes all runs scored through batting, extras, and any penalties awarded. The official scorecards published by the Caribbean Premier League will serve as the basis for verifying the final results and settling this market.
Several factors could influence the price of contracts in this market. Any news regarding player injuries or changes to team lineups would likely cause significant movement. Weather forecasts also play a crucial role, as rain delays or a wet pitch can impact scoring rates. Performance in recent matches, head-to-head records between the teams, and even pre-match interviews with key players could all shift market sentiment. Unexpected events during the match itself, such as a particularly dominant batting performance or a collapse, would also drive price changes.
