Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, representing their profit margin. This market, driven by the collective intelligence of traders on Polymarket, aims to represent the true probability of an outcome, though biases can still exist. Discrepancies between prediction market prices and sportsbook odds can arise from differing opinions on player form, potential upsets, or simply variations in how each assesses risk. Analyzing these differences can be valuable for informed decision-making.
