Prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, potentially differing from sportsbook odds which can be influenced by factors like house bias or initial line setting. Sportsbooks may also adjust their odds more slowly than Polymarket as new information emerges. While sportsbooks rely on expert analysis and algorithms, this market aggregates the insights of many individual traders, potentially leading to a more accurate forecast. Comparing the two can reveal interesting discrepancies and provide a broader understanding of the event's expected outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous trading mechanism where shares are bought and sold, determining the implied probability of each outcome. The price of a share representing a specific outcome reflects the market’s belief that outcome will occur. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are constantly updating their assessments based on new information, leading to dynamic price adjustments. The more traders believe an outcome is likely, the higher the share price will climb, and vice versa. This creates a fluid and responsive pricing system.
This market resolves around Sep 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Gorniczy vs. Davos game, as reported by recognized sports authorities. The platform will verify the final score and declare the winning outcome based on this publicly available data. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will be entitled to a payout, while those holding shares in the losing outcome will forfeit their investment.
