Polymarket offers 18 discrete exact-score outcomes plus an 'Any Other Score' catch-all, while Kalshi provides four over/under total goals markets (1.5, 2.5, 3.5, 4.5). Both resolve based on the official final score at 90 minutes plus stoppage time, excluding extra time and penalties.
In the upcoming Brazil Serie B game between Goiás EC and SC Recife, scheduled for July 22, 2026 at 7:30 PM ET: This market will resolve based on the final score of the Goiás EC vs. SC Recife match originally scheduled for July 22, 2026 at 7:30 PM ET, considering only the result at the end of 90 minutes of regulation plus stoppage time; extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. If the actual score is not one of the explicitly listed outcomes, the market resolves to "Any Other Score." If the match is postponed, the market will remain open until it is completed; if it is canceled with no make-up game, the market resolves to "0-0." The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome.
Resolution is determined by the total goals scored by both Goias and Sport Recifa combined during the full 90 minutes plus stoppage time of their Brasileiro Serie B match scheduled for July 22, 2026. Extra time and penalties do not count toward resolution. Each outcome threshold (1.5, 2.5, 3.5, and 4.5 goals) resolves independently based on whether the combined total exceeds that specific threshold.
Prediction markets and traditional sportsbooks price outcomes differently because they operate under distinct mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, often incorporating sharp-money signals and public betting patterns. Prediction markets, by contrast, rely on continuous trader participation and real-time supply and demand. This can lead to sharper, more efficient pricing in some cases, though sportsbook odds may reflect faster-moving news or injury updates. Comparing the two reveals arbitrage opportunities and helps you calibrate your own confidence in this market's outcome.
Key injury announcements, lineup confirmations, and recent team form will likely drive price swings before kickoff. Weather conditions at the venue and head-to-head tactical matchups can also influence scoring expectations. Late-breaking news about player suspensions or managerial changes may prompt sharp traders to reposition. Additionally, movement in related markets—such as over/under total goals or match winner odds—can cascade into exact score repricing as traders adjust their models. Monitoring team social media, official injury reports, and pre-match press conferences will help you stay ahead of these shifts.
