Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. If a significant number of traders believe a particular exact score is more likely than sportsbooks suggest, the odds on Polymarket will shift to reflect that collective insight. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing different exact scores, and the price of each share reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more shares purchased for a specific score, the higher its price rises, indicating increased confidence in that result. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds constantly adjust based on supply and demand, providing a real-time assessment of the likely outcome of the Gimnasia vs Tristan Suarez match.
