Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the outcome. If a significant number of people believe one team is more likely to score first, the price of shares representing that outcome will increase, potentially exceeding sportsbook implied probabilities. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially when public sentiment strongly diverges from expert analysis.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing each possible outcome – in this case, either Getafe CF or Málaga CF scoring first in the first half. The price of each share reflects the market’s collective belief about the probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more shares are traded, the price adjusts to reflect new information and changing sentiment. The market's total volume provides insight into how much interest there is in each potential result.

This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team, Getafe CF or Málaga CF, scores the first goal during the first half of the match. The result will be based on official match data and verified against credible public sources. The platform will then settle the shares accordingly, paying out to those who correctly predicted the first team to score.

Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Late-breaking news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Getafe CF or Málaga CF would likely have a significant impact. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments, or even weather conditions could also affect traders’ perceptions. Unexpected announcements about starting lineups just before the match, or even significant pre-match commentary from analysts, could all contribute to price movements in this market. Any information that alters the perceived probability of either team scoring first could drive trading volume.
