PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi's resolution criteria state that Yes resolves if Germany wins, Yes if Paraguay wins, or Yes if Tie occurs—meaning every possible outcome triggers Yes. This is a logical contradiction that renders the market unresolvable. Polymarket uses a standard three-way outcome (Germany/Draw/Paraguay) with coherent, mutually exclusive conditions.Hero tip: Do not trade Kalshi's version of this market. The resolution logic is internally contradictory and will create settlement disputes. Polymarket's market is the only tradeable version. Contact Kalshi support immediately to clarify whether this is a data entry error or a Yes/No market with a missing baseline condition.

Critical divergence points:

  • Kalshi: Resolves to Yes if Germany wins second half, Yes if Paraguay wins second half, or Yes if Tie occurs. Every possible outcome maps to Yes, creating a logical impossibility. Quote: 'If Germany is the winner... then the market resolves to Yes. If Paraguay is the winner... then the market resolves to Yes. If Tie is the result... then the market resolves to Yes.'
  • Polymarket: Resolves to Germany if Germany scores more goals in second half, Draw if equal goals, Paraguay if Paraguay scores more. Uses official governing body statistics as primary source, credible reporting consensus as fallback. Quote: 'This market will resolve to Germany if Germany score more goals than Paraguay in the second half... This market will resolve to Draw if Germany and Paraguay score the same number of goals... This market will resolve to Paraguay if Paraguay score more goals than Germany.'

Kalshi

Resolution is based on which team scores more goals during the second half (45 minutes plus stoppage time) of the Germany vs Paraguay FIFA World Cup match originally scheduled for June 29, 2026. Only goals scored during the second half count toward this market. Germany wins the second half if it scores more goals than Paraguay; Paraguay wins the second half if it scores more goals than Germany. If no goals are scored during the second half or both teams score an equal number of goals, the Tie outcome resolves to Yes. If the game is cancelled or rescheduled to over two weeks away, the market will resolve to a fair price in accordance with the rules.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets and traditional sportsbooks price outcomes differently because they operate under distinct incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and lock in profit margins, often adjusting for sharp money and public betting patterns. Prediction markets, by contrast, rely on trader capital and conviction—prices emerge from continuous buy-sell dynamics without a house margin built in. This market's odds on Polymarket and Kalshi may diverge from major sportsbooks because traders are pricing based on their own research, model outputs, and real-time information flow. Comparing this market to a sportsbook can reveal arbitrage opportunities or signal where informed traders see value relative to traditional betting lines.
