This event group covers prediction markets on which team scores first in the Germany vs. Paraguay FIFA World Cup match scheduled for June 29, 2026. The core question is whether Germany, Paraguay, or neither team will record the first goal, with resolution depending on the time window considered (regulation + stoppage time only, or including extra time).
In the upcoming match between Germany and Paraguay, scheduled for June 29, 2026 at 4:30 PM ET: This market will resolve to "Germany" if Germany are the first to score within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. This market will resolve to "Paraguay" if Paraguay are the first to score within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. If neither team scores within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time, this market will resolve "Neither". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve to "Neither". This market refers only to the outcome within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. Extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome.
Resolution is determined by which team records the first goal during the complete match duration, encompassing regulation time, stoppage time, and any extra time periods. The market covers three possible outcomes: Germany scores first, Paraguay scores first, or no goal is scored. If the first goal of the match is an own goal, resolution is based on the team to which the goal is officially awarded by FIFA officials. The entire match duration includes all periods of play from kickoff through the final whistle, whether the match ends in regulation or proceeds to extra time.
Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform operates under distinct regulatory frameworks, fee structures, and user bases, which can create temporary price gaps on identical outcomes. Kalshi and Polymarket may attract different trader demographics—some preferring one interface, liquidity pool, or settlement speed over the other. Arbitrage opportunities arise when one platform prices the event higher or lower than the other; sophisticated traders exploit these spreads until prices converge. Monitoring both venues reveals where conviction is strongest and whether consensus is truly aligned across the prediction market ecosystem.
Team news—injuries to key forwards, goalkeeper availability, or tactical shifts—can significantly reprrice this market. Recent form, head-to-head history, and home-field advantage in the tournament context all influence trader positioning. Weather conditions, pitch quality, and referee assignments may also shift perceived advantage. Pre-match press conferences and lineup announcements typically trigger sharp price movements as new information reaches traders. Late injury reports or unexpected lineup changes in the hours before kickoff often create the largest swings, as liquidity concentrates around confirmed starting rosters.
