Two major European football powers face each other in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where one may advance further than the other, or both could be eliminated at the same stage.
Resolution is based on the furthest stage each team advances to in the 2026 Men's FIFA World Cup, with applicable stages ranging from Group Stage through winning the Final. If Germany advances to a further stage than Belgium, that market resolves Yes; if Belgium advances further, its corresponding market resolves Yes; if both teams reach the same furthest stage, the "Eliminated same stage" market resolves Yes. For teams losing in the Semifinals, their furthest stage is considered the Semifinals regardless of third-place match results. If a team withdraws, forfeits, or is disqualified, their furthest stage is determined by the last stage they successfully completed—for example, a team withdrawing after winning a Round of 32 match has the Round of 16 as their furthest stage.
Prediction market odds on Kalshi often differ from traditional sportsbook odds because they reflect real-time trader sentiment rather than bookmaker margins and risk management. Sportsbooks typically build in a margin and adjust lines to balance action, while prediction markets aggregate thousands of independent traders' beliefs about which team will go further. Comparing Kalshi odds to major sportsbooks can reveal where the crowd disagrees with professional oddsmakers. Prediction markets tend to be more efficient at pricing uncertainty over longer horizons, making them valuable for assessing tournament outcomes where multiple rounds remain.

Several factors could shift odds before Jul 20, 2026. Key player injuries or suspensions affecting either squad would significantly impact perceived chances. Recent form, head-to-head records, and qualifying performance provide early signals. Tournament bracket positioning and group-stage results determine knockout matchups and difficulty. Tactical changes, coaching decisions, or team news released closer to matches can trigger sharp price moves. Weather conditions, home-field advantage, and historical tournament performance also influence trader sentiment. As the tournament progresses and both teams play their group matches, actual results will be the strongest catalyst, either strengthening or weakening each team's perceived ability to advance further.
