Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds due to varying information sources and incentives. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and profit margins, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by simultaneously betting on both the prediction market and a sportsbook. It's common to see prediction markets incorporate information faster than sportsbooks, especially in response to breaking news or late-developing insights.
