Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, while prediction markets let traders freely buy and sell contracts based on their own beliefs. This market aggregates the views of many independent traders, which can sometimes reveal information or consensus that sportsbooks have not yet fully priced in. Comparing the two can highlight where professional oddsmakers and the broader trading community disagree.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader orders into real-time probabilities. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome contract trades between 0 and 100 cents, with the price directly representing the implied probability. When you buy a contract, you are betting that outcome will occur; if it does, your contract settles at 100 cents. The spread between bid and ask prices reflects current liquidity and uncertainty, so tighter spreads typically indicate higher confidence or deeper trading interest.
This market resolves around Jul 28, 2026, once the event concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome will be confirmed based on the official match result, with the winning team's contract settling at 100 cents and the losing outcome at zero. Until that point, prices will fluctuate as new information emerges, odds shift, and traders adjust their positions. Early resolution is possible if the match is cancelled or postponed under specific conditions outlined by the platform.
Several factors could shift prices significantly before Jul 28, 2026. Injury announcements or roster changes involving key players will likely trigger sharp moves, as will recent form, head-to-head records, and court conditions. Media coverage, expert commentary, and betting action on traditional sportsbooks can also influence trader behavior. Momentum from earlier rounds of the tournament, weather forecasts, and any scheduling delays may prompt repricing. As the match date approaches, late-breaking news and final odds adjustments from major sportsbooks often drive final trading surges.
