This market will resolve to "YES" if any player joins or leaves G2 Esport's main cs2 roster (defined as players listed with status = "Starter" in the "Players of G2" table on HLTV: https://www.hltv.org/team/5995/g2#tab-rosterBox) by July 15, 23:59 UTC, 2026. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "NO". As of market creation the active starter roster consists of the following five players: huNter-, HeavyGod, SunPayus, MATYS, NertZ. Name changes or aliases referring to the same player do not qualify as roster changes. For the purpose of this market, "roster change" refers to any official signing, transfer, benching to inactive/reserve, release, retirement, or departure of a player from the active starter lineup. This includes adding new players (transfers, free agent signings, or loans), removing players (to bench/inactive, free agency, or other teams), or any change resulting in a different 5-player active roster on HLTV. Coach changes and temporary stand-ins for a single event will not count. For matches and events, the stand-in appears in the active 5-player lineup but with a clear marker (e.g., [SI]) to distinguish them from the core roster. The primary resolution source for this market will be HLTV; however a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds serve different purposes. Sportsbooks typically focus on game outcomes and player performance with fixed odds set by oddsmakers, while prediction markets like this one aggregate trader beliefs about discrete events—in this case, whether a specific organization makes a roster move. Prediction markets often reflect longer-term sentiment and can adjust more dynamically as new information emerges, whereas sportsbooks prioritize liquidity and margin. Both offer valuable signals, but they operate under different incentive structures and market mechanics.
On Limitless, traders buy and sell shares representing "yes" or "no" outcomes, with the share price directly reflecting the implied probability of a roster change occurring. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders accumulate positions betting on change, the price rises; conversely, skepticism drives it lower. The continuous order-book mechanism allows prices to adjust in real time based on new information, team announcements, or transfer rumors, ensuring the market price reflects the collective assessment of likelihood at any given moment.
This market resolves around Jul 15, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once any roster change announcement is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution hinges on whether G2 Esports officially announces a change to its competitive roster—such as a player signing, departure, or substitution—on or before the deadline. Once the event is documented through official team channels, press releases, or established esports news sources, the market settles accordingly.
Several catalysts could shift trader sentiment in this market. Official announcements from G2 management regarding roster plans, player contract negotiations, or competitive performance issues would have immediate impact. Esports transfer rumors, departures of key players to rival teams, or acquisition of new talent would also drive price movement. Additionally, G2's competitive results, management statements about team direction, and broader esports transfer-window activity could influence expectations. Any credible reporting about internal roster discussions or coaching changes would likely trigger significant trading activity.
