On Polymarket and Kalshi, prices can vary because of differences in user bases, liquidity, and trading mechanics. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. For instance, one platform may have deeper volume backing its current favorite, while the other could see more speculative activity skewing its implied probability. Such gaps often narrow as the event nears, but they offer arbitrage opportunities.
