PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi market has a logical contradiction: both possible game outcomes (Eagles win and Hawks win) are mapped to Yes, leaving no valid No resolution path. This makes the market fundamentally unresolvable as defined.Hero tip: Avoid trading Kalshi until the market creator clarifies the resolution logic. The current terms violate basic binary market structure. Polymarket's market is well-defined and tradeable.

Critical divergence points:

  • Polymarket: Binary outcome market with clear winner-takes-all logic. Hawks win resolves to Hawks; Eagles win resolves to Eagles. Postponement keeps market open; cancellation or tie resolves 50-50 split. This is a standard, resolvable structure.
  • Kalshi: Defective binary structure mapping both possible game outcomes to Yes. Both 'Eagles win' and 'Hawks win' trigger Yes resolution, with no defined No condition. This creates a logical impossibility for the market to resolve to No under any realistic game outcome.
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets and sportsbooks price outcomes through different mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and extract a margin, while prediction markets aggregate trader beliefs through continuous order flow. This market's current odds reflect live trader positioning rather than a bookmaker's fixed spread. Prediction markets often react faster to breaking news—injuries, roster changes, or weather—because individual traders update positions instantly. Comparing this market's probability to major sportsbook lines can reveal mispricings, though both should converge as the event approaches and information becomes public.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Platform-specific liquidity, user demographics, and fee structures all influence pricing. Polymarket may attract different trader profiles or have deeper order books in certain outcomes, pushing prices apart. Kalshi's regulatory framework and Polymarket's design philosophy create subtle incentives that can widen spreads during low-volume periods. Geographic arbitrage—traders on one platform spotting a mispricing and trading the other—eventually narrows gaps, but temporary divergences persist. Monitoring both venues helps you identify when one platform undervalues or overvalues a particular outcome relative to the other.

Key catalysts include injury announcements, lineup changes, recent team performance streaks, and head-to-head historical trends. Weather conditions on game day can significantly impact play style and scoring. Betting line movement at major sportsbooks often precedes prediction market shifts, so monitoring external odds provides early signals. Team momentum, pitcher or player matchups, and any late-breaking roster news will drive trader repositioning. Public commentary from analysts or team officials can also spark repricing as new information reaches the market. Watch for volume spikes, which often signal informed traders acting on fresh intelligence.
