This event group tracks the outcome of the NPB game between the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks and the Orix Buffaloes scheduled for August 22 at 1:00 AM ET. The resolution depends on which team wins, with specific rules for ties, cancellations, and postponements.
In the upcoming NPB game, scheduled for August 22 at 1:00AM ET: If the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks win, the market will resolve to "Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks". If the Orix Buffaloes win, the market will resolve to "Orix Buffaloes". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, or ends in a tie, this market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source will be official information from the NPB. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
The market resolves to Yes for the Orix Buffaloes if they win the game originally scheduled for August 22, 2026, at 1:00 AM EDT. It resolves to Yes for the Fukuoka Hawks if they win the same game. If the game is postponed or delayed, the market remains open and closes after the rescheduled game concludes, as long as it occurs within two days of the original date. If the game is canceled or rescheduled beyond two days, the market resolves to a fair price. A tie results in a 50/50 resolution for both markets.
On Polymarket and Kalshi, prices can vary because of differences in user base, liquidity, and market design. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. For example, one platform might attract more local fans, skewing its odds toward a particular team, while the other could reflect a more global or neutral audience. Additionally, each venue sets its own fee structure and trading rules, which influence how quickly prices adjust to new information or betting activity.
