This group resolves based on the outcome of a single NPB (Nippon Professional Baseball) game between the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks and the Chiba Lotte Marines. The market determines which team wins the game, with a 50-50 split resolution if the game is canceled or ends in a tie.
In the upcoming NPB game, scheduled for September 12 at 1:00AM ET: If the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks win, the market will resolve to "Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks". If the Chiba Lotte Marines win, the market will resolve to "Chiba Lotte Marines". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, or ends in a tie, this market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source will be official information from the NPB. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
Markets resolve to Yes if the specified team wins the originally scheduled game. If the game is postponed or delayed, markets remain open until the rescheduled game concludes within two days. Cancellations or rescheduling beyond two days result in a fair price resolution. Ties resolve markets to a 50/50 split.
Prediction market odds, like those found in this market, often reflect a more diverse range of information than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically set lines based on statistical models and expert opinions, while prediction markets aggregate the views of many individual bettors. This can lead to differences in probabilities, as prediction markets may incorporate unique insights or react more quickly to new information. However, both aim to accurately forecast the likelihood of an event, and discrepancies can present opportunities for arbitrage between the two.
