This event group covers outcomes from two distinct NPB baseball matchups involving the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks. One market references a Hawks vs. Lions game scheduled for August 9, 2026, while the other references a Hawks vs. Marines game scheduled for August 13, 2026. The markets differ in resolution criteria and scope.
In the upcoming NPB game, scheduled for August 13 at 5:00AM ET: If the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks win, the market will resolve to "Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks". If the Chiba Lotte Marines win, the market will resolve to "Chiba Lotte Marines". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, or ends in a tie, this market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source will be official information from the NPB. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
The market resolves based on the result of the Fukuoka Hawks vs Saitama Seibu Lions Japan NPB game originally scheduled for August 9, 2026 at 4:00 AM EDT. If the Fukuoka Hawks win the game, their market resolves to Yes and the Saitama Seibu Lions’ market resolves to No, and vice versa if Saitama Seibu Lions wins. If the game is postponed or delayed but played within two days of the original schedule, the market remains open and resolves after the rescheduled game concludes. If the game is cancelled or rescheduled to more than two days after the original date, the market resolves to a fair price. In the event of a tie, both markets resolve at a 50/50 split. The markets are independent of any official affiliation with the governing league, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
On Polymarket and Kalshi, prices can diverge due to differences in user bases, liquidity, and trading activity. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. For example, one platform might attract more local fans who skew probabilities toward a specific team, while the other could reflect international traders with a different risk assessment. Volume disparities also play a role — higher volume typically tightens the spread.
