These markets evaluate how many points are scored in a specific quarter of a college football game between Fresno State and USC. Each market has a different threshold for the total points scored by both teams combined during that quarter.
The markets resolve based on the total points scored by both Fresno State and USC during the third quarter of their college football game scheduled for September 4, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined score exceeds the threshold (e.g., more than 2.5, 5.5, 7.5, etc.), the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Only points scored during the third quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, the market resolves to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own analysis. It’s common to see discrepancies between the two, especially before significant events or when public opinion shifts. Examining these differences can be insightful for anyone interested in understanding how various sources assess the probability of an outcome.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the total points scored in the 3rd quarter. The price of a contract represents the probability of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price adjusts to reflect the collective expectation. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures that the market price is always a real-time assessment of the likely outcome, based on the aggregated knowledge of all participants.
This market resolves around Sep 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The total points scored in the 3rd quarter of the Fresno State vs USC game will be used to determine the winning contracts. The resolution will be based on official game statistics and will be publicly available following the conclusion of the game. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or fulfill their obligations based on the final result.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Fresno State or USC teams could significantly shift expectations. Changes in weather conditions, especially if they are expected to impact scoring, could also move the market. Additionally, late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions could influence trader sentiment. Finally, large volume trades on Kalshi itself can cause price fluctuations as traders react to new information or adjust their positions.
