Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different pricing mechanisms. Sportsbooks set fixed odds designed to balance their book and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are priced by traders themselves through continuous buying and selling. Traders in this market incorporate real-time information, team form, and injury updates to adjust prices dynamically. This can result in prediction market odds being more responsive to breaking news than traditional sportsbook lines, though both aim to reflect the true probability of outcomes.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each possible outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the cumulative trading activity and current demand relative to supply. As traders place orders, the price adjusts in real time to balance the market. This continuous pricing model means odds can shift rapidly in response to new information, team news, or shifts in trader sentiment about the second half result.

This market resolves around Aug 1, 2026, once the Fredrikstad vs. Sandefjord match concludes and the second half result is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the final score or result recorded during the second half only, independent of the first half. Resolution occurs after official confirmation from the relevant football authority or trusted sports data provider. Traders should monitor the match schedule and any official announcements to anticipate the resolution window.

Several factors can shift odds in this market before resolution. Team news such as player injuries, suspensions, or tactical changes announced before kickoff will likely trigger price movements. Early match momentum, goals scored in the first half, and red cards or injuries during play can all influence trader expectations for the second half outcome. Weather conditions, home-field advantage, and recent form of both sides may also influence sentiment. Traders often react to live match developments, so significant events during the first half could substantially reprrice the second half result.
