All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and profit margins, while prediction markets price outcomes based on trader consensus and real-money conviction. This market aggregates the beliefs of many independent traders rather than a single bookmaker's model. Prediction markets typically adjust faster to breaking news and public information, whereas sportsbooks may lag slightly to protect against sharp bettors. Comparing the two can reveal whether professional oddsmakers or the crowd is more bullish on a particular scoreline.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker and order-book hybrid, where traders buy and sell shares representing each exact scoreline outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome contract trades independently, so a 3–3 draw, for example, has its own price reflecting the probability traders assign to that result. As traders place orders, prices adjust in real time. The cost to buy a share equals the current market probability; selling returns the inverse. This continuous repricing mechanism ensures the market reflects up-to-date sentiment on every possible final score.
This market resolves around Jul 29, 2026, once the match between Fortaleza and Botafogo concludes and the final score is verified against credible public sources. The winning outcome is the exact scoreline recorded at full time, excluding extra time or penalty shootouts unless the competition format requires them. Traders holding shares in the correct exact score receive their payout, while all other positions expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the final whistle, pending confirmation from official match records and the platform's verification process.
Team news—injuries to key strikers or defenders, lineup announcements, or tactical shifts—can significantly alter scoreline probabilities. Recent form, head-to-head history, and weather conditions on match day all influence expected goal output and final margins. Betting syndicates and sharp traders often move the market ahead of public information, so sudden price spikes in specific outcomes may signal insider confidence. As kickoff approaches, late-breaking developments like unexpected absences or pitch conditions can trigger rapid repricing. Close to the match, this market typically sees increased volume and volatility as casual and professional traders finalize positions.
