Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the individual beliefs of many traders. If a significant number of informed bettors believe a sportsbook is mispricing a team’s chances, you might see the prediction market odds diverge. It's common to find that prediction markets are more accurate than sportsbook odds, especially when considering long-term performance.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome. The price of a contract reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more people buy contracts for a particular team, the price increases, and the implied probability goes up. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust expectations as the event approaches. The current price reflects the collective assessment of all traders participating in this market.
This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The team leading at the end of the first half of the Fordham vs William & Mary game will be declared the winner of this market. Official game statistics and results will be used to determine the winning team, ensuring a transparent and verifiable resolution process. Traders will be able to claim their winnings shortly after the official result is available.
