Prediction market odds on Polymarket often diverge from traditional sportsbook odds because they reflect real-time crowd sentiment rather than fixed lines. Sportsbooks may lag behind market-driven repricing, especially as match-day conditions or player news break. Comparing Polymarket probabilities to major sportsbook spreads can reveal value opportunities. Prediction markets tend to be more dynamic and responsive to late-breaking information, while sportsbooks balance multiple factors including liability management and margin requirements.
On Polymarket, the Foggia (Doubles) match is priced according to the collective bets of all traders holding positions in the contract. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current implied probability reflects the balance of buy and sell orders; as new information surfaces—such as injury reports or warm-up results—traders adjust their positions and the price moves accordingly. Polymarket uses an automated market maker model, so prices update continuously based on trading flow rather than being set by a central operator.
