This market tracks the winner of the second set in the 2026 Wimbledon Men's Singles Quarterfinal between Flavio Cobolli and Arthur Fery on July 8. Bettors predict which player will win that specific set.
The market resolves to Yes for whichever player wins set 2 of the professional tennis match. If the match does not occur before play begins due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation, the market resolves to a fair price. Postponements or delays keep the market open until the rescheduled match concludes within two weeks. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play resolve accordingly; those that cannot are settled at Fair Market Price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven purely by trader conviction and capital allocation. Prediction markets typically incorporate real-time information more efficiently since participants have direct financial exposure and no house edge to protect. For a tennis set outcome, prediction market prices may react faster to player form, court conditions, or momentum shifts than traditional sportsbooks, making them a useful reference point for informed bettors.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each contract reflects the collective probability assigned by active traders; a contract trading at 65 cents implies roughly a 65% chance of that outcome occurring. Liquidity and order flow determine how quickly prices adjust when new information emerges. Wider spreads between bid and ask prices indicate lower liquidity, while tight spreads suggest strong two-sided interest in the outcome.
This market resolves around Jul 8, 2026, once the second set of the Cobolli vs Fery match concludes and the winner is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which player wins the set according to official tennis scoring rules. No ambiguity typically surrounds set outcomes in professional tennis, making resolution straightforward. Traders should monitor the match schedule and any potential delays or postponements that could affect the timing of resolution.
Several factors could shift odds before the second set concludes. The result of the first set is a major catalyst; if one player takes a commanding lead, market sentiment may shift sharply toward that player for the second set. In-match momentum, visible fatigue, or injury concerns can trigger rapid repricing. Pre-match conditions like court surface, weather, or recent head-to-head history also influence initial pricing. Real-time commentary, break points, and serve performance during the set itself will drive continuous price adjustments as traders update their expectations based on unfolding play.
