Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they serve different purposes and operate under different constraints. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and manage risk, while prediction markets reflect aggregated trader belief in real time. On this market, the consensus odds may differ from traditional sportsbook spreads or totals because traders are pricing the exact scoreline—a narrower, more specific outcome than most sportsbooks offer. Prediction markets typically update faster in response to breaking news, and they lack the vig or margin that sportsbooks build in. Comparing the two can reveal whether public opinion on the final score aligns with professional oddsmakers' views.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that calculates odds based on the current balance of buy and sell orders for each exact-score outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders purchase shares representing their chosen scoreline, and the price of each outcome moves inversely with demand—higher demand raises the price, reflecting greater confidence in that result. The platform displays odds as percentages, making it easy to compare the relative likelihood of different final scores at a glance. As the match date approaches and new information emerges, traders adjust their positions, causing prices to shift dynamically across all possible outcomes.
This market resolves around Jul 23, 2026, once the match concludes and the final score is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the exact scoreline at full time, with no adjustments for extra time or penalty shootouts unless the competition rules specify otherwise. Traders holding shares in the correct exact-score outcome receive their payout when the result is confirmed and the market is settled. Until that point, prices may continue to shift as match conditions change and new forecasts emerge.
Several factors can shift odds in this market before the match kicks off. Team news—such as injuries to key players, lineup announcements, or tactical changes—often triggers sharp price moves. Recent form, head-to-head history, and weather conditions at the venue can also influence trader sentiment about likely scorelines. Betting syndicates and sharp bettors may move prices if they detect value in less-obvious outcomes. As match day draws closer, late-breaking developments like unexpected absences or lineup surprises can cause rapid repricing. During the match itself, live score updates and momentum shifts will drive continuous adjustments until the final whistle.
