Prediction markets and traditional sportsbooks price outcomes differently. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets derive prices from continuous trader activity and real-money stakes. This market aggregates the beliefs of many participants betting their own capital, often reflecting sharper, more dynamic pricing than static sportsbook lines. Comparing this market's odds to major sportsbooks can reveal where traders see value or disagreement on the likely exact score, though both venues update as new information emerges.
On Polymarket, traders set prices through an automated market maker mechanism where buying or selling shares moves the odds in real time. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each exact-score outcome has its own contract, and the price of each reflects the collective probability assigned by active traders. As match conditions change—team lineups, weather, betting volume—traders adjust positions, causing prices to shift. The top outcome currently reflects strong market conviction, but all possible scorelines remain tradeable at their respective prices throughout the market's duration.
This market resolves around Jul 8, 2026, once the match concludes and the final scoreline is confirmed. The outcome is determined by the exact number of goals scored by each team at the end of regulation play. Resolution is verified against credible public sources reporting the official match result. Traders holding shares in the correct exact score receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. Early resolution is possible if the match is abandoned or postponed beyond the resolution window.
Team news such as injuries to key players, lineup announcements, or tactical changes can shift market odds significantly. Pre-match betting trends and sharp money flowing into particular scorelines may signal informed traders' conviction. Weather conditions, venue factors, and recent form updates influence expectations. As kickoff approaches, late-breaking developments—suspensions, weather warnings, or surprise roster decisions—often trigger rapid repricing. Live match events themselves, once play begins, will cause dramatic swings as traders react to early goals, red cards, or momentum shifts in real time.
