Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different pricing mechanisms. Sportsbooks set lines to balance liability and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets price outcomes based on real-time trader consensus and capital allocation. For exact score markets, sportsbooks typically offer limited scoreline options with fixed odds, whereas prediction markets allow traders to price every conceivable result. This flexibility can reveal nuanced probability distributions that sportsbooks don't publish. Comparing the two can highlight undervalued or overvalued scorelines, though prediction market prices tend to sharpen closer to kickoff as more information becomes available.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each exact score outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each scoreline has its own contract, and the price of a share reflects the collective belief in that outcome's probability. As traders buy shares in a particular score, its price rises; conversely, selling pressure lowers it. The system ensures continuous liquidity and price discovery across all possible final scores. Traders profit by correctly predicting which scoreline will occur, with payouts determined by the final verified result.
This market resolves around Jul 29, 2026, once the match between the two teams concludes and the final score is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the exact scoreline at the end of regulation time, with all winning positions paid out according to the final result. No settlement ambiguity exists for exact score markets—the result is objective and verifiable from official match records. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the final whistle, allowing traders to collect winnings promptly.
Several factors can shift odds in this market before kickoff and during the match. Team news—injuries to key players, lineup announcements, or tactical changes—often triggers sharp repricing of scoreline probabilities. Weather conditions, venue factors, and recent form can also influence trader sentiment. Once the match begins, live scoring events directly reshape the odds for remaining possible outcomes. Betting syndicates and sharp traders may move the market on new information, while casual traders react to momentum and in-game developments. Close to resolution, only the actual scoreline matters, so late-stage price moves typically reflect real-time match dynamics rather than external news.
