Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, incorporating a built-in margin. Prediction markets, by contrast, aggregate trader beliefs through continuous price discovery—odds shift as participants trade based on new information or changing conviction. This market may show tighter or wider gaps compared to traditional sportsbooks depending on liquidity, the volume of active traders, and how quickly new developments are priced in. Both reflect expected outcomes, but prediction markets often respond faster to breaking news.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker (AMM) mechanism where traders buy and sell shares of potential outcomes. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the collective belief of all traders participating in the pool. As more traders buy shares predicting one result, the price of that outcome rises and the price of alternatives falls. This continuous repricing ensures the market remains responsive to new information and trader sentiment throughout the trading period.
This market resolves around Jul 23, 2026, once the second half of the match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the official final score recorded for the second half period. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome receive their payout, while incorrect predictions expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the match ending, pending confirmation from official match records.
Several catalysts could shift odds before this market resolves. Team news—such as injury announcements, lineup changes, or tactical adjustments—often triggers sharp price movements. First-half performance is a major signal; if one team dominates early, traders may adjust second-half expectations accordingly. Weather conditions, referee assignments, or recent form updates can also influence sentiment. Real-time momentum during the first half typically generates the most volatility, as traders incorporate live match data into their predictions for the second half outcome.
