Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different trader bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and profit margins, while prediction markets aggregate decentralized trader beliefs in real time. This market typically shows tighter spreads and faster price discovery than traditional sportsbooks because traders stake real capital on outcomes. Comparing the two can reveal where the crowd sees value, though prediction markets excel at capturing late-breaking information closer to event time.
