Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often incorporating information and analysis beyond what is readily available to traditional sportsbooks. While sportsbook odds are set by professional oddsmakers, this market allows anyone to participate in setting the probabilities. As a result, you may find differences between the two, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. These differences can present opportunities for arbitrage, though transaction fees and market liquidity should be considered.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe an outcome is likely, the higher the price of its shares will rise, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing reflects the collective intelligence of the market participants, giving a real-time assessment of the potential second-half result.

This market resolves around Sep 19, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on which team—FC Tōkyō or Nagoya Grampus—wins the second half of the match. No further details about the resolution process are available. Traders should monitor official sources for the final result and ensure they understand the timing of the resolution process to manage their positions effectively.

Several factors could influence the price action in this market. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in player lineups, or tactical adjustments announced before the match could significantly shift expectations. Live game events, such as early goals or red cards in the first half, would also likely cause substantial movement. Unexpected weather conditions or referee decisions impacting gameplay could also play a role. Monitoring these signals will be crucial for traders looking to capitalize on changing probabilities.
