On Polymarket and Kalshi, trader activity and liquidity can vary significantly, leading to price differences. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. For example, if one platform has more volume behind a specific scoreline, its probability may appear higher. Additionally, each venue may attract different user bases, from retail traders to more sophisticated participants, which can skew pricing until the market matures and volumes converge.
Injuries to key players, weather conditions, or recent form for either team could shift probabilities in this market. Strong performances in warm-up matches, tactical changes from coaches, or even shifts in betting trends on traditional sportsbooks can influence trader sentiment. Any development that alters the perceived likelihood of specific scorelines may cause rapid price adjustments as participants react to new information.
