Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance liability and profit margins, while prediction markets aggregate trader beliefs through continuous price discovery. For this market, comparing the implied probability here to major sportsbook lines can reveal whether professional bettors and retail traders disagree on the likelihood of each scoreline, potentially signaling value or consensus shifts in real time.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker (AMM) mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each possible exact score. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The cost of each outcome fluctuates based on supply and demand, with the current odds reflecting the aggregate belief of all participants. As traders place orders, the price adjusts dynamically, ensuring continuous liquidity and fair discovery of the true probability for each scoreline outcome.
