Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different pricing mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are priced by traders seeking to profit from accurate forecasts. Prediction markets tend to incorporate real-time information and crowd intelligence more dynamically, sometimes leading to sharper or earlier price moves than traditional sportsbooks. For a second-half result, prediction market participants may react faster to team news, injury updates, or in-game momentum shifts. Comparing the two can reveal whether consensus leans toward undervaluing or overvaluing a particular outcome relative to market-derived probabilities.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader activity into real-time probability estimates. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders purchase shares representing either outcome, and the price adjusts continuously based on supply and demand. The current odds reflect the aggregate belief of all participants about whether FC Seoul will win the second half. This mechanism ensures the market price remains responsive and incorporates the collective intelligence of the trading community in real time.

This market resolves around Jul 12, 2026, once the second half of the FC Seoul vs. Gangwon FC match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which team scores more goals during the second half only; first-half goals do not count. Resolution occurs after official confirmation of the final score, typically within hours of the match ending. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome receive their payout automatically, while losing shares expire worthless. The timing ensures sufficient time for result verification before settlement is finalized.

Several catalysts could shift odds before resolution. Team news—such as injury announcements, lineup changes, or tactical shifts—often triggers immediate repricing as traders reassess second-half prospects. Early-match momentum is a powerful signal; if one team dominates the first half, traders may adjust their view of second-half performance based on fatigue, confidence, or defensive adjustments. Managerial decisions at halftime, including substitutions or formation changes, directly influence market sentiment. Weather conditions, crowd dynamics, and real-time performance metrics also drive trading activity. Additionally, any breaking news about player availability or unexpected circumstances can cause sharp price moves as the market incorporates fresh information.
