On Polymarket, traders set the odds through an automated market maker that adjusts prices based on buy and sell volume. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the aggregate belief of all traders participating in this market at any given moment. As more capital flows toward one team, that outcome's price rises, creating continuous price discovery. Team news—injuries to key strikers or defensive players—can significantly shift odds in either direction. Recent form, head-to-head records, and home-field advantage all influence trader positioning. Lineup announcements closer to kickoff often trigger sharp price moves as the market incorporates concrete information. Weather conditions, referee assignments, and any last-minute roster changes may also prompt traders to reassess their positions before the opening whistle.
