Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, while prediction markets are driven by traders wagering real capital on their beliefs. This market aggregates the collective conviction of participants who profit or lose based on accuracy, which can make prediction market prices more responsive to new information. Comparing this market's implied probability to major sportsbooks' lines can reveal where the two venues disagree on the second half outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader orders into real-time odds. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price you see reflects the cumulative bets placed on each outcome; as more capital flows toward one side, the odds shift to balance supply and demand. Traders buy shares at the current price if they believe the outcome is underpriced, or sell if they think it is overpriced. This continuous repricing mechanism ensures the market stays responsive to new developments and trader sentiment throughout the trading window.
This market resolves around Jul 30, 2026, after the second half of the match concludes. The outcome is determined by the final result of the second half and verified against credible public sources once the event is complete. Traders holding positions on the winning outcome receive their payout, while losing positions expire worthless. The resolution process is automated once the match result is confirmed, ensuring all participants receive timely settlement.
Several factors could shift this market before resolution. Team news—such as injury announcements, lineup changes, or tactical adjustments—often triggers repricing as traders reassess the second half outlook. First-half performance is a major catalyst; if one team dominates early, traders may adjust their expectations for the second half momentum and fatigue patterns. Weather conditions, referee assignments, and any pre-match developments can also influence positioning. Real-time events during the first half, including goals, red cards, or momentum swings, typically generate the largest price moves as traders update their forecasts.
