Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different pricing mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, while prediction markets derive prices from continuous trading among participants with real money at stake. In this market, traders are directly wagering on the second half result, which can lead to sharper or more reactive pricing than traditional sportsbooks. Comparing the two can reveal where one venue sees value the other has missed, though both aim to reflect the true probability of the outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader orders into real-time odds. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders buy and sell shares representing different second-half outcomes, and the cumulative volume and order flow determine the current price. As more capital flows toward one outcome, its price rises and the implied probability adjusts accordingly. This mechanism ensures continuous liquidity and allows participants to enter or exit positions throughout the trading window without waiting for a counterparty.
This market resolves around Jul 30, 2026, once the second half of the match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome is determined by the actual final score and result recorded for that half of the fixture. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome receive their payout, while losing positions expire worthless. Resolution timing depends on official confirmation of the match result, which typically occurs shortly after the final whistle.
Key catalysts for price movement include team news such as injuries, suspensions, or lineup changes announced before kickoff. Early match momentum and goals scored in the first half often shift second-half expectations, as traders reassess fatigue, tactical adjustments, and psychological factors. Weather conditions, referee assignments, and recent form updates can also influence sentiment. As the match progresses and the first half unfolds, traders will adjust their positions based on how the game is actually playing out, causing this market to react dynamically to live developments.
