On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker (AMM) mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share fluctuates based on the ratio of shares in the pool—as more traders buy shares for one outcome, its price rises, and the competing outcome's price falls. This continuous pricing model ensures liquidity and allows traders to enter or exit positions at any time before Jul 25, 2026. The current odds reflect the platform's real-time assessment of which team is favored to score first, updated instantly as new trades execute.
This market resolves around Jul 25, 2026, once the match concludes and the first goal is verified. The outcome is determined by credible public reporting of the match result—specifically, which team scored the opening goal. Once the event is confirmed through standard sports data sources and official match records, the market settles automatically, and traders holding the winning outcome receive their payout. No further trading occurs after resolution.
Several factors can shift odds in this market before kickoff and during play. Team news—injuries, lineup changes, or tactical announcements—often triggers sharp price movement as traders reassess each side's attacking threat. Early match momentum is a powerful signal; if one team dominates possession or creates clear chances in the opening minutes, traders typically reprice the odds to reflect increased scoring likelihood. Weather conditions, pitch quality, and referee assignments can also influence early-game dynamics. Additionally, live betting activity during the match itself will cause continuous repricing as the match unfolds and the probability of each outcome changes in real time.
