Frequently asked questions

Comparing prediction market odds to those offered by sportsbooks reveals how the wisdom of the crowd differs from expert analysis. Sportsbooks set initial lines based on team statistics, player performance, and other factors, while this market reflects the collective beliefs of individuals trading on Polymarket. Often, prediction markets can be more accurate than traditional forecasts, particularly when information is dispersed and subjective. Discrepancies between the two can present opportunities for arbitrage, where traders profit from price differences. However, it’s important to note that sportsbooks and this market have different risk profiles and liquidity levels.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting growing confidence. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price fluctuates based on supply and demand, driven by new information, analysis, and overall market sentiment. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date collective prediction.

This market resolves around Sep 19, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will depend on the official result of the second half of the FC Koper vs. Nafta 1903 Lendava match. The outcome will be determined by which team wins the second half, or if the second half ends in a draw. Traders will then be paid out based on the final result and their holdings in the corresponding outcome shares. The platform will verify the result against publicly available data to ensure accuracy.
