Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are priced purely by trader supply and demand. Sportsbooks employ professional oddsmakers and adjust for sharp money, whereas prediction markets aggregate the collective beliefs of a broader participant base. For exact-score markets, sportsbooks typically offer limited options or higher margins, whereas prediction markets allow traders to price every possible scoreline. Both can be useful signals, but they answer slightly different questions about match outcomes.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker and order-book mechanisms that allow traders to buy and sell shares of each exact-score outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the collective willingness of traders to bet on that specific final score, with higher prices indicating greater confidence. Shares are fractional and range from 0 to 1 cent, so a 0.89 price means traders believe there is an 89 percent chance of that outcome. As new trades execute, prices update in real time, and the market naturally gravitates toward equilibrium as arbitrageurs and informed traders correct mispricings.
This market resolves around Jul 4, 2026, once the FC Anyang vs. Pohang Steelers match concludes and the final score is verified. The outcome is determined by the exact scoreline at the end of regulation play, confirmed against credible public sources including official league records and reputable sports data providers. Traders holding shares of the correct exact score receive their payout, while incorrect predictions expire worthless. Early resolution is possible if the match is abandoned or rescheduled, though standard play completion is the baseline expectation.
Team news such as injuries to key players, lineup announcements, or tactical shifts can significantly alter exact-score probabilities. Recent form, head-to-head records, and home-field advantage all influence trader expectations about likely scorelines. Weather conditions and pitch quality on match day may also sway odds, particularly for high-scoring or low-scoring outcomes. As kickoff approaches, late-breaking information—such as unexpected absences or last-minute team changes—often triggers sharp repricing. During the match itself, early goals or red cards will cause rapid shifts in the odds for remaining possible final scores.
