This prediction market asks forecasters to predict which NFL player will score the most fantasy points in Week 1 of the 2026-27 NFL season using standard PPR scoring. The markets cover a wide range of players, and resolve to the highest scorer as determined by ESPN Fantasy Sports.
This market will resolve to the player that finishes Week 1 of the 2026-27 NFL regular season as the highest-scoring player overall under standard PPR (points-per-reception) scoring per the default scoring of ESPN Fantasy Sports. Only games designated by the NFL as Week 1 of the 2026-27 regular season count. If two or more players are tied for the most fantasy points in Week 1, this market will resolve in favor of the tied player whose last name comes first alphabetically. If the highest-scoring player in Week 1 of the 2026-27 NFL regular season is not one of the players listed in this market, this market will resolve to "Other". If Week 1 of the 2026-27 NFL regular season is cancelled, postponed past September 30, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or a leader cannot be determined within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source will be official Week 1 statistics as reported by ESPN Fantasy Sports (https://www.espn.com/fantasy/).
Each market resolves based on whether the specified player finishes with the highest total full-PPR fantasy points for all players in Week 1 of the 2026 NFL regular season, using Sleeper's scoring system. If the designated player achieves the highest score, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. In cases where multiple players tie for the highest points, the payout is divided equally among all tied players (1/N, where N is the number of tied players), and no holder will receive $1 minus the Yes payout. Players who do not participate in the week are considered to have scored zero points. The scoring format includes detailed point allocations for passing, rushing, receiving, kicking, defensive/special teams performances, and individual player special teams/fumbles.
Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Kalshi, often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and risk management, while this market is driven by individuals betting their own capital. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when public opinion diverges from expert analysis. While sportsbooks focus on implied probability based on payout structures, this market directly shows the probability traders assign to an outcome. It's important to consider both when evaluating potential value.
