Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance betting action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market relies on individuals freely trading based on their own assessments. If a significant number of traders believe a specific outcome is more likely than sportsbooks suggest, the odds on Polymarket will adjust accordingly. It’s common to see prediction markets outperform sportsbooks in terms of accuracy, especially when there's substantial trading volume, indicating strong collective belief.
