Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market is driven purely by traders’ beliefs. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when public sentiment strongly diverges from the sportsbook’s initial assessment. It's common to see prediction markets incorporate information and adjust more rapidly to new developments than sportsbooks, though both aim to predict the same ultimate outcome. Examining these differences can be a valuable exercise for informed bettors.
