Several factors could shift odds before kickoff: team news such as injuries, suspensions, or lineup changes; weather conditions affecting playing style; recent form and head-to-head history; and betting syndicates or sharp traders entering with large positions. If either team announces a key player unavailable, the market may swing sharply. Unexpected tactical announcements or late-breaking injury reports often trigger repricing. Additionally, if one team is perceived as stronger in the second half based on historical patterns or fatigue factors, informed traders may accumulate positions, moving the price in real time.
