In the upcoming FIFA International Friendlies game between Ethiopia and Malawi, scheduled for June 9, 2026 at 11:00 AM ET: This market will resolve based on the final score of the Ethiopia vs. Malawi match originally scheduled for June 9, 2026 at 11:00 AM ET, considering only the result at the end of 90 minutes of regulation plus stoppage time; extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. If the actual score is not one of the explicitly listed outcomes, the market resolves to "Any Other Score." If the match is postponed, the market will remain open until it is completed; if it is canceled with no make-up game, the market resolves to "0-0." The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome.
Prediction market odds on Polymarket often diverge from traditional sportsbook odds because they reflect real-time trader sentiment rather than fixed bookmaker lines. Sportsbooks typically offer limited exact-score options and adjust lines to balance liability, while prediction markets allow continuous price discovery across all possible scorelines. Comparing Polymarket probabilities to major sportsbooks can reveal which outcomes the crowd favors versus where bookmakers see value. This comparison is useful for identifying potential mispricings and understanding how professional oddsmakers view the match differently than decentralized traders.
On Polymarket, each exact scoreline outcome trades as a separate contract with its own price between 0 and 1, representing the implied probability of that result. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders buy shares in outcomes they believe are underpriced and sell those they view as overpriced, with the market price adjusting based on order flow and liquidity. The sum of all outcome prices should theoretically equal 1. Prices update in real time as new trades execute, and the current odds reflect the marginal trader's assessment of each scoreline's likelihood given available information about team form, injuries, and match conditions.
The Ethiopia vs. Malawi - Exact Score market resolves on Jun 9, 2026. Resolution is determined by the final score of the match at the end of regular time. The market will settle to whichever outcome matches the official final scoreline reported by the relevant football authority. Traders should verify the exact resolution criteria and data source used by Polymarket before the match begins to ensure clarity on how edge cases—such as postponements or abandoned matches—are handled.
Key catalysts include team news such as injury announcements to star players, confirmed lineups released before kickoff, and recent form or head-to-head history. Weather conditions on match day, home-field advantage factors, and any late tactical shifts can shift trader expectations. Betting syndicates or sharp money entering the market may also move odds sharply if they hold strong views on likely scorelines. Live match developments—goals, red cards, or momentum swings—will drive prices during the game itself. Monitor official team communications and credible sports media for updates that could alter the probability distribution across exact scores.
