Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while this market allows traders to directly assess the probabilities. If a significant discrepancy exists between the implied probability on Polymarket and sportsbook odds, it might suggest that the market believes the sportsbook is mispricing the likelihood of a specific outcome. However, it’s important to remember that both represent different forms of opinion and are subject to their own biases and information sources.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different exact scores. The price of each share reflects the market’s collective belief about the probability of that score occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust, providing a dynamic assessment of the potential outcome. The market's efficiency depends on the number of participants and the quality of information they incorporate into their trading decisions. This creates a constantly updated forecast based on the wisdom of the crowd.
This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the Estrela da Calheta FC vs. SC Vianense match will be used to determine the winning share(s). The resolution will be based on official match results, as reported by a trusted sports data source. Traders holding shares in the correct exact score will be entitled to a payout based on the market’s pricing at the time of resolution. Any disputes regarding the official result will be resolved by Polymarket’s established procedures.
