A men's professional T20 Blast cricket match between Essex and Surrey scheduled for July 1, 2026 at 2:00 PM EDT. The outcome depends on which team wins the match.
Resolution is determined by the official match result. If either team wins, the corresponding market resolves to Yes. If the match ends in a tie, draw, no result, abandonment, or cancellation with no official winner declared, all markets resolve to $0.50. Forfeits, disqualifications, or concessions occurring before the match begins result in $0.50 resolution; if they occur after play has begun and the governing body declares an official winner, resolution follows that result. If play begins but insufficient play occurs to determine an official result, all markets resolve to $0.50.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and manage risk, while prediction markets aggregate the beliefs of traders who have real money at stake on the outcome. This market may show different implied probabilities than traditional sports betting sites, especially as new information emerges. Comparing the two can reveal where consensus differs and highlight opportunities if you believe one venue is mispricing the event.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for shares representing each possible outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The platform matches buyers and sellers in real time, and the last traded price becomes the current market price. As new information about team form, injuries, or conditions surfaces, traders adjust their positions, moving the odds up or down. This dynamic pricing reflects the collective forecast of all active participants.
This market resolves around Jul 1, 2026, once the match concludes and the result is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the official result of the cricket match—whether Essex or Surrey wins. No further conditions or qualifications apply; the resolution hinges solely on the final verified outcome of the game itself.
Key catalysts include team news such as player injuries, roster changes, or lineup announcements that affect squad strength. Weather forecasts closer to match day can shift conditions and advantage one team over the other. Recent form, head-to-head records, and any off-field developments involving either side may prompt traders to reassess probabilities. As the match date approaches, accumulating data on pitch conditions and final team confirmations typically drive the largest price movements in this market.
