Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to freely adjust probabilities based on information and analysis. If sportsbook odds suggest a heavy favorite, but traders in this market believe the outcome is less certain, the price will adjust accordingly. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts leading up to the event.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the prices adjust to reflect the collective prediction. The market’s price movements are driven by supply and demand, influenced by news, analysis, and overall market sentiment regarding the England vs. Tanzania second half.

This market resolves around Sep 8, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the result of the second half is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome will be determined by the official result declared by the governing football association, specifically whether England, Tanzania, or the match ends in a draw during the second half. The resolution process relies on publicly available data to ensure an accurate and transparent outcome for this market.

Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding player injuries or changes to the starting lineups for either England or Tanzania would be a key catalyst. Unexpected tactical decisions by the coaches during the first half could also shift expectations for the second half. Public sentiment and analysis from sports commentators could also influence trading activity.
